Launching a new clinical trial
A new procedure for detecting heart failure is now undergoing clinical trials.

New Clinical Trial
We are glad to announce the launch of a new clinical trial aimed at improving the early detection of heart failure. The study will test a new approach that may allow doctors to identify the condition before symptoms become severe, giving patients the chance to begin treatment sooner.
Clinical challenges
Heart failure affects millions of Americans and is a leading cause of hospitalization. Because it is often diagnosed late, patients frequently face complications that could be prevented with earlier care.
Trial
The trial will:
- Recruit adults who are at higher risk of developing heart failure:
- Family background
- Smoker or former smoker
- Test new ways of detection and monitoring heart health
- Compare outcomes with current standard methods
Like all research at UCLA Health, the trial follows strict university policies designed to protect participants.
